Christmas Stocking Workshop 3-Part Series

Maximum Class Size: 8 Participants
In a series of 3 2-hour workshops, this skill-building series will introduce knitters to the
structure of sock knitting using short rows and decreases for shaping, as well as embroidered
embellishment. With ample time for completing homework between sessions and “office hours”
for knitting support, participants can complete their stockings before the holidays.
Participants should be familiar with knitting in the round on double-pointed needles.
Supplies
1 skein each worsted weight yarn in red, dark green, light green, and white (Berroco Vintage used
in sample).
16” size 7 circular needle
Additional size 7 circular needle (optional)
Size 7 double-pointed needles
Stitch markers
1 stitch holder
Blocking pins (or long straight pins with large heads)

Weaving Workshop

10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
$100 includes lunch
Maximum class size: 10 participants
A creative way to use up leftover balls of yarn or a new yarn you can’t wait to work with, this
method of weaving is easy and fun! Learn ways to combine colors, textures, and fibers as you
make a unique and beautiful scarf. Learn to weave while creating something lovely to wear or give
as a gift. During class, we will discuss what yarns will work well together and which ones might
not be the best choices, so bring what you have and let’s talk! Tabletop looms will be provided.
You’ll have a completed scarf at the end of the workshop!
Supplies
Tapestry needle
Scissors
10-15 yards of waste yarn (acrylic works best)
Cardboard tube from paper towel roll
2 brown paper grocery bags
550 yarns of yarn
• In a combination of weights, lace weight to worsted, with a smooth finish in
harmonizing colors
• Should include at least 200 yarns of a solid color
• Warp yarn should be smooth and strong to hold up to tugging
After many years of teaching knitting and crochet, Deborah discovered that weaving encompasses
her love of fiber, texture, and color. Since 1996, she has worked as a full-time weaver. She has
won numerous awards and written for national publications. She is a talented teacher and a
popular Stitches instructor.
